➡️ BSFL is a nutritious, sustainable and economical staple insect for bearded dragons and other insect eating reptiles.
➡️ BSFL provide an excellent source of calcium. They do not require calcium dusting which makes the larvae an excellent choice in the prevention of metabolic bone disease, MBD.
➡️️ BSFL contain antimicrobial peptides which are beneficial to the immune system. These peptides provide inhibitory effects against parasites, bacteria and viruses.

➡️ What age is appropriate for bearded dragons to begin eating BSFL?
I use BSFL for neonates right through to adults. The larvae product comes in mixed sizes and growth stages. For babies, I will sift through and find the smallest larvae for their consumption.
Just remember rule of thumb: food portion should not be bigger than the gap between the dragon's eyes.
➡️ Can BSFL be used for regular feeding?
Black soldier fly larvae is a staple feeder. The larvae is highly nutritious and suitable for regular use. We do advise using other feeders such as woodies, crickets and silkworms for variety.
➡️ Does BSFL require calcium dusting like other feeders?
BSFL is higher in calcium than other feeders which increases the product potential in the prevention of MBD. No calcium dusting required on your larvae. We recommend dusting your salads instead.
➡️ Are there BSFL benefits for breeding Adults?
BSFL is an outstanding feeder for adult bearded dragons who are breeding and for gravid females. BSFL supports strong and healthy bones for weight bearing The larvae assist in healthy egg/shell development and provide a nutritional balance for rearing happy healthy embryos and neonates.
➡️ How long do they live for /life cycle before they can’t be used as live feeders?
The larvae is despatched in mixed sizing and different stages. Kept in the right environment the larvae will grow and turn to fly within a period of roughly 5-6 weeks, longer under cold environments or refrigeration.
Once the larvae turn to fly it will continue to live for around 8 days.
